A quick, convenient way to ensure your vehicle remains up to date without the need to visit a Retailer. Software Updates are now available over Wi-Fi, or by using your vehicle’s SIM card.
After activating this feature, a notification will appear on your vehicle’s Touchscreen when an update is available. This can be downloaded and installed there and then, or you can choose to postpone the update to a more convenient time.
Through Software Updates, you can wirelessly update your vehicle’s software. This enables you to conveniently keep the vehicle up to date without the need to visit a Retailer.
Through Software Updates you will be able to maintain and fix your vehicle’s Infotainment and Telematics Module, and in our electric vehicles, the Battery Energy Control Module.
You can switch the Software Update on or off through the Settings menu within the Software Updates section. When switching on the Software Updates, you will need to accept the terms and conditions to activate the feature.
Software Updates offer a convenient way to keep your car up to date, with less frequent visits required to your Retailer. They provide the ability to further optimise vehicle systems, such as the infotainment system or the charging capability in all-electric vehicles.
Software Updates will be sent periodically to Jaguar vehicles as soon as the need arises or any issues are identified with existing vehicle software.
In order for your vehicle to be eligible for an Infotainment system update, the software version of your Infotainment needs to be at 18B or above. You can check what software version your Infotainment system is currently on through the Settings menu, within the Software Update section. The version of the Infotainment system will be displayed as a long string of characters, e.g. ‘S18B_18.25.3-174880’.
The Infotainment system can be connected either through a Wi-Fi connection or through the SIM card inserted into your vehicle. You may also use a hotspot connection through your mobile device, however, this may result in additional data charges.
If connection is lost during download, it will pause until the connection is re-established.
Telematics/Battery updates will be automatically connected on activation of Software Updates in the settings menu in Telematics enabled countries.
You may experience data costs, if connection is achieved through the SIM card inserted into your vehicle. In some countries you will have received a SIM card on purchase of your vehicle, if used, you will not receive data charges for Software Updates.
When an update is available, you will receive a pop-up notification on the Infotainment system, for all types of update. You can also check for available updates through the Settings menu, within the Software Update section.
You will receive a pop-up on the in-vehicle screen when an update is available for download/installation. Once accepted, the update will not interrupt the driving experience. Upon completion you will receive a successful installation notification on the Infotainment.

You will receive a pop-up on the Infotainment when an update is available for download. Once downloaded, you will receive a second pop-up to install the update. Once accepted, you cannot stop the process. Installation requires 35mins, where the vehicle cannot be used.
The installation may take up to 35 minutes. When installing Telematics and Battery Energy Control Module Updates, you will not be able to use your vehicle during this time. You can still use your vehicle when installing an infotainment update.
Yes. You need a mobile or Wi-Fi connection to download and complete the installation.
You can use your vehicle as normal. A failed download will not affect your vehicle’s functionality in any way. Please contact the Jaguar Customer Relationship Centre or your Jaguar Retailer and they will investigate further.
You can access the update through your vehicle’s Settings menu, within the Software Updates section. Select ‘Check for an Update’ and, if an update is available, a notification will appear, allowing you to begin the process. If you prefer, you can visit a Jaguar Retailer who will assist you with the update.
Yes. You can add a PIN to your vehicle to protect your Software Update settings. To manage this, select General settings > select Software Updates > select the lock icon.
Infotainment updates require a SIM card to be inserted within your vehicle. Check your personal SIM is installed and working correctly. Or alternatively, visit a Jaguar Retailer who will assist you with the update.
